Wilsonville is a wonderful community on the bank of the Willamette River south of 
Portland, Oregon's largest city, and north of Salem, the state's capitol.  It's beauty, livability and convenient freeway access make it a fantastic place to both live and work. 

Located in the fertile horticultural region of Oregon, Wilsonville was a quiet farming community until recent years.  Wilsonville began as a ferry crossing over the Willamette River known as Boones Landing.  The ferry was operated by Alphonso Boone, grandson of frontiersman Daniel Boone.  Jesse Boone, Alphonso's son, cleared a road to Wilsonville from southwest Portland and other growing towns in the Willamette Valley.

The name of the town was changed to Wilsonville after postmaster Charles Wilson in 1880.  Wilsonville was then a busy port where steamers loaded with merchandise, crops and passengers docked.

Incorporated in 1969, Wilsonville is now one of the main areas of growth in the region... a modern city surrounded by lush farmland.  

The beauty of Oregon is unsurpassed, and many of its natural wonders are within easy driving distance of Wilsonville.  It is less than a two hour drive to reach the ever changing Mt. St. Helens, the spectacular Pacific Ocean, or the majestic Mt. Hood.

                                  
                                  
Closer to home are lush vineyards, forests, rivers, golf courses and historical attractions.  Portland is just 20 miles north of Wilsonville for sports, shopping and the arts. 

Wilsonville itself features many parks, wonderful schools, its own mass transit system, and some of Oregon's most influential businesses.
